DAY 5 : Joining the highway
Today is Thursday morning, for us it is ‘day 5’. We just passed the south tail of the great banks of Newfoundland. We have spent the last twenty-four hours in very light winds, sometimes nothing at all. We are just between two weather systems and, as i write, the wind is already picking up from the south. A low pressure system is about to pass north of us ; it should give us the final push for us to join the Gulfstream. We will then cruise along towards Europe on the ‘highway’ of the north Atlantic ocean. According to the weather forecast, we should make it to north of the Acores in five days time.
In the meanwhile, the crew has enjoyed some very beautiful weather. Blue sky, bioluminescent night dolphins and shooting stars are have been at the menu. We are stitching sails at day and playing the guitar at night. We know there will be rougher days, but for now we just enjoy another day in paradise.
Fair winds to all of you.

Beim Lesen versuchte ich mir damals vorzustellen, wie ein Rahsegler und wie das Navigieren in Gezeitengewässern ohne Motor mit […]
Life on Tres Hombres has been an experience and a half! After a few years where we all had a life constraining effect from corona and a chance meeting with an old friend who had sailed on Tres Hombres previously my heart was set on an adventure. A sailing trip from Amsterdam to Les Sables […]
