Bonaire, divers paradise, by officer on watch Francois Mangin Deville
Back at sea for the new crew on board the good ship Tres Hombres, last week we were moored in Bonaire. We couldn’t drop the anchor everywhere we wanted because the coast line of the island is protected, the locals take good care of the corral reef which surround the beaches.
It´s not allowed to catch fish here. So then the island is a paradise for the corral fishes.
Few of us where invited to do their diving initiation, dealing with the air bottle and the inflatable vest, breathing at ten meters deep is not usual for a human.
I did also some diving, to fix the plank caulking below the water line. It was damaged by the 4000 mille we sailed since the last dry docking.
First sailing rule: Keep the Ocean outside the ship.
More stories will follow, for the moment, we have to climb up the rigging to replace a yard brace.
Ahoy Francois
