Hi there! My name is Focaccia and I got the pleasure of joining the Tres Hombres this summer. I am a one year old homing pigeon from Germany and on my way home to Hannover I got lost on the coast of the Netherlands and landed on the deck of the Tres Hombres to take some rest.

On board they called me “La Reine des Pigeons” (The Queen of all Pigeons). I know I am no queen, but the crew members all treated me like one. I got food, water, a bed in the noise room and a lot of love from everyone. Every day I made a little patrolling flight around the ship to stretch my wings. I sat on the galley roof to oversee the tacks and walked around on deck to check if it was squared correctly.

I must say it was quite hard to make the decision to leave. But when we arrived in Copenhagen I knew it was time for me to say goodbye to this lovely ship and her amazing crew and fly of to new (sailing) adventures.
