Southerly wind (Captain Anne-Flore Gannat)

A persistent southerly wind for several days now. Comfortable and fast. Everything we need. A disturbance front in the north will pass over our heads today.

Waiting 35 knots this afternoon. As the storm rises, the sails are quietly hoisted until the shift to the northwest. And then we continue with a nice calm breeze.
The group is used to the maneuvers and routine, the two new trainees also quickly felt at ease and integrated into all aspects of this life. So even bad ones
weather forecasts are received with confidence. That's all we need.

Still 600 miles to go. Everyone is talking about the places they want to visit on Faial. We have a small guide on board who appeals to the imagination. We also talk about the arrival in Amsterdam. Many questions from those who have never seen the unloading. We look forward to handling the bags and barrels again. We are curious whether the lower barrels and bags have become wet, whether the rum has leaked more and how many moths will fly away from the hold. We are absolutely motivated to unload cargo that we have worked and sailed so much for. Within a few intense months, a sense of appropriation grows. It's in the air, it's not obvious at sea because it's normal there. A normality when everyone has to share the same space, the same tools. But it will become clear when we get to shore.

The team comes together and talks about anecdotes, funny moments that happened on board and invariably the crew returns from an excursion with a look of relief that they are coming home. Don't be afraid, we are accessible and happy to share the stories. Currently on the road between the jellyfish of the Portuguese man-of-war, pieces of plastic on the surface of the ocean every day, the supertankers and hundreds of nicely tidy coiled lines in our garden. Not yet without food, but we make ice cream and cheese, a clear sky on the volcano .. We're coming Horta!!

The night becomes dark without the moon and lets the stars shine in all their splendor. Guidance from the air, that's what we need. By the way, we have a chance to arrive on the 21st.

Everthing okay !!
