La Palma Catorce surprises with sweet tasting notes of dry fruit and creamy chocolate
The ‘Tres Hombres Rum Ed. 028 La Palma Catorce’ was distilled by Ron Aldea in La Palma (Spain) from local, organic sugarcane juice.
This rum has aged for 14 years on land in former bourbon-casks, after which it was submitted to a 7-month second aging in the belly of the Tres Hombres sail-powered cargo vessel while being transported to Amsterdam. During transport in the year 2019, the rum barrels are stored in between bags of cocoa and coffee beans which, due to the motion of the sea, causes a strong aromatic enhancement to the rum.
The La Palma Catorce has extraordinary aromas of dried fruits, wood, pear and apple, combined with hints of rich, creamy chocolate.
The taste immediately reminds of rum-filled pralines, a whiff of wood and light fruits. It has a light, natural sweetness to its taste, and our La Palma Catorce matures in your glass to its full potential.
