Tres Hombres Bier Sailing '22 Barley Wine, Trippel, and Russian Imperial Stout, a bittersweet symphony on the tongue!
While you enjoy the Barley Wine, your thoughts wander to the skippers, let's say pirates, who sailed the rum barrels from the Caribbean to the Netherlands on the beautiful sailing ship Tres Hombres. After the rum barrels are empty, we let our heavy, traditionally brewed Barley Wine rest in these barrels for at least 100 days. This Barley Wine is powerful and robust, with a complex scent full of hints of caramel, biscuit and honey. Infused with malt sugar sweetness, it reveals flavors of fudge, ripe fruit and a hearty bitterness. This beer is brewed with a range of different malts, ranging from light to dark caramel malts. The fermentation is done with a traditional Belgian yeast strain that expresses fruity esters. The Barley Wine has an alcohol content of 12.3%, an EBC value of 30 and an IBU of 40. The ingredients consist of water, malt, hops, caramel syrup and yeast.
A fairly heavy tripel, partly thanks to maturing in Tres Hombres Rum barrels. Raisins and alcohol predominate on a spicy and even woody base. The rum aroma fills the entire room. The Trippel has an alcohol percentage of 10.1%, an EBC value of 9 and an IBU of 29. The ingredients consist of water, malt, hops, sugar and yeast.
Although the skippers would not soon embark on a sailing trip to Siberia, a Russian Imperial Stout is a beautiful beer that can be perfectly blended with the complex flavors of the barrel. Thanks to the maturation of at least 100 days, the beer has already reached some maturity, making it immediately ready to drink. Because the pirates used to be used to heavy dark beers, you don't have to be ashamed if you sit on the couch at home with an eye patch on. With one of your children's toy sword in the air, you fight to defeat the Russians. Cheers, Argghh…! The beer is as black as the night on the high seas, forcing the skippers to sail by the stars. The flavors are reminiscent of the commercial spirit, but during the tasting you smell and taste coffee, chocolate and mocha. It is fermented with an English yeast strain that has a neutral profile to bring out all the other flavors of the hops and malt. The Russian Imperial Stout has an alcohol percentage of 10.6%, an EBC value of 104 and an IBU of 62. The ingredients consist of water, malt, hops, salt and yeast.
The drinks in this series of barrel-aged beers are all aged for at least 100 days in the Tres Hombres barrels. For the third year in a row, this collaboration is the most beautiful and wonderful project we have been able to do in a year. Ready in time for the holidays, this is an addition to any range.
