This coffee has two origins:
50% comes from Honduras (COMBRIFOL / Marcala region, 1300-1700 m). These are Arabica Bourbon and Catuai, grown on the fertile soils of the volcanic hills in the region. The Cooperativa Mixta de la Frontera consists of approximately 600 families. They also produce fruit, corn, honey and beans, and manage fish farms.
The other 50% comes from Nicaragua (TIERRA NUEVA / Boaco region, 700-1200 m). Here Arabica Bourbon and Caturra grow in the shady parts of the country, protected by palm trees, trees and bananas from the bright sun. They are also committed to agricultural diversification, such as that of beans, corn, ginger and turmeric, to reduce their dependence on coffee cultivation alone.
The coffee was shipped by sailing ship (March-June 2020) with the ADVENTURE and roasted and open-cooled by Torrefazione Chelotti Caffè in Italy. This coffee has a fresh, lively scent with fine herbs and a delicate note of hazelnut and almond. On the tongue you taste dark chocolate with a subtle nuttiness. In short, a harmonious coffee with character.
The shelf life of this Brigantes Coffee Classico Blend No. 1 is 18 months, and the beans are hand-picked, washed, sun-dried and hand-selected.
