GENERAL SYNOPSIS: ON BOARD THE TRES HOMBRES
WIND SPD:15 kn
We are now crossing the Caribean Sea from the south to the north. The water temperature is still above 25 degrees Celsius.
Dominican Republic is our destination. Most of our cargo will be loaded here again. Last island we departed from is Bonaire. One of our crew members, Joel, who sailed on Tres Hombres for more then three years stayed with his family on the island.
Joel all the best, we are going to miss you!
At Bonaire we didn´t only enjoyed the beauty of mother earth. We also got in contact with Jaap and Sanny from ¨Onima Aloe¨ . They have a small farm with Aloe Vera plants and Jaap is making 100% pure Aloe Vera gel and other pure products from the plant. They were very interested in shipping their precious product with the Tres Hombres to the Netherlands. Now we have a container with about 230 lt. of this natural gel in our cargohold bound for Amsterdam. Almost all of the aloe vera products are made of an extract. This process declines the healing properties of the plant. Onima Aloe makes the gel directly from the plant, which makes it a straightforward honest product. Onima Aloe also wants to cooporate with the small local farmers on the island and stimulate them keep their product natural as well. This is a beautiful product to ship with fairtransport and perhaps next year their will be natural Tres Hombres Aloe Vera Suncreme on the market made by Onima. Stay tuned!!
Sailing is the most efficient way to use the energy from the wind. On board of Tres Hombres we are working with joy to sail all kind of natural products to you.
Best wishes to everyone
Tres Hombres Crew
Wonderful progress towards west yesterday. The front is passing now with rain and the wind died. We brailed up the main and braced square. It is the trimming for waiting for any kind of wind. The ship is heading north but drifts east. We can only try to drift slower what we don’t want now […]
“They call it the Caribbean of the North”…where you can have buckets of liquid sunshine and imagine coconuts growing on city lights. Welcome to the magical experience that is sailing a cargo of 19.000 bottles of natural French wines to Denmark. Telling a story about the last two weeks is not easy. So many beautiful […]
The departure maneuver in Copenhagen was super cool and smooth! It is great to move a big sailing ship like this in a harbor under sails. Nowadays being under sails inside a port is forbidden. I allowed us to do it because it’s possible and it’s very important to understand your ship under all circumstances, […]
