A rough night for the new Tres Hombres‘ crew
Yesterday after a quick stop at Ramsgate, England, to get some toilette paper that I forgot in Den Helder,(sailing is not romantic)
We were heading south to pass the Dover strait, when we were caught in an unexpected light gale.
Instead of north wind announced by the weather forecast, a strong south-west, force 8, was waiting for us in the Dover strait.
Reducing the sail surface in between the busy shipping lanes and tacking up and down the strait to make some west was quite intensive.
At 4 o’clock, the wind died, drifting in the middle of crazy sticky smoky cargo ships make the end of the night more intense.
Every little knot of wind must be used for the best to make our way to Douarnenez. Brace sharp and back ten time a hour.
But as always, Tres Hombres found is way to pass, we are now entering the French Channel (or maybe English, I don’t remember)
Everybody on board given his best and enjoyed the experience.
Now it’s time for us to dry a bit.
Enjoy your day.
Francois
