Below the waterline Nordlys will first be cleaned up , after that the whole ship will be caulked and if there are any bad spots in the wood it will be replaced. After that she will receive a nice fresh layer of paint.

The rudder will be made a little smaller. The steel keel will be filled up with ballast (4000 KG!).
A sensor will be attached to measure the depth of the water.
Last but not least the valve underneath the ship  and the old propeller shaft will be closed for ever!.

So you see a lot to be done during a period on the slipway! Stay tuned for some more stories an pictures.
