English Channel, here we are,

This afternoon, Tres Hombres will pass the longitude of Cap Lizard
The Channel gate
Surrounded by heavy fuel powered cargo ship
Our brave real sailing ship is tacking up and down against the wind
Full and by close hauled, with the outer jib down
Even if we running 6 to 7 knots on the water
The progress to east, into the wind, is only about 1 knots
Close hauled: 2 time the distance
3 time the length
4 time the tiredness
5 time the anger
In the Channel it’s even worst, the tidal current is strong
and with us less than half of the time
Patient sailors always have good wind
Next week the wind will veer, then we’ll do good speed to Den Helder

Looking forward to warm up our feet in Tortuga house
We bring delicious chocolate from Republica Dominicana to drink aside the fireplace

Greetings from the Channel
